Kara brings over ten years of experience conducting Title IX investigations and independent investigations for institutions and organizations involving sexual misconduct, non-discrimination, workplace misconduct, and NCAA compliance. She currently serves as a Title IX Coordinator and Clery Compliance Officer, leading both virtual and in-person investigations for institutions across Minnesota, providing essential Title IX services.
Before founding ISG, Kara held senior leadership roles at the University of North Dakota, including Senior Woman Administrator, Senior Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations, and Deputy Title IX Coordinator. As part of the campus BIT team, she led the university’s NCAA compliance investigations and education initiatives, while also conducting Title IX investigations and workplace investigations.
With a deep understanding of campus culture and organizational dynamics, Kara adopts a practical, collaborative, and informed approach to help workplaces, institutions, and school districts meet their compliance and investigative needs, serving as a reliable Title IX external investigator.
Kara earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and her law degree from Tulane University Law School. Her early career experience includes roles as a compliance coordinator at Fresno State and a summer enforcement intern at the NCAA. Additionally, she serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of North Dakota, teaching Sports Law and related courses.
